Macbook Pro Freezing?

I own a Macbook Pro which was bought in October of 2009, and has worked perfectly until today when it started doing something I've never even heard of. The laptop will show the "Pinwheel of Death" and after a few moments, the Front Row application will fill the screen, and responds to nothing except for a forced shut down. There isn't a disc in the drive, and not even the force quit command will work, nor any of the track pad "commands". This has happened to me only today but twice a few hours apart. The machine is not overheated, lying on a flat surface and at most I've had two applications open (Safari and iTunes).

The first time it was opening the shell and entering my password and then getting Front Row instead of my desktop. The second time was after just quitting Safari and iTunes.

Does anyone have an idea of what is going on? Or would it best be to trek up to the nearest Apple store, which is about an hour and a half drive away, and consult a Genius there?

Applications on my mac OS X keep crashing after recent update?

I recently downloaded itunes 10 and several other updates along with it which I don't recall reading too much. I know one was for safari.

However since then Safari began crashing quite a bit, every couple of days, which then turned to once a day, to a couple of times a day, to now not being able to have it open for longer than 5 minutes.

I downloaded firefox just today to see if that was any better, but that now crashes faster than safari an won't open at all.

I have the sims 2 on my mac as well and it is also crashing after being open for a few minutes. What's wrong with my perfect mac :( nothing has ever gone wrong before, I though macs were supposed to above this crap?

Please help, I don't know what to do, I need the computer for my studies.

Everytime I go back to edit the answers and I try to type a character with the umlaut it not lets me type it. It lets me type the character with the umlaut on first answer but not when I go back to edit. When I chose the "submit" it say "Safari cannot open the page." It only do it on the Englishlanguage Yahoo Answer. Anyone know why this happen to me?

safari seems to lag heaps, or unless it's just my safari. it feels way slower than the other browsers.

i'm not sure where I'd put internet explorer and mozilla firefox because i haven't used them in a while.

I went to preferences and checked the "always" box next to cookies, but it still doesn't work. I ordered an iPhone 2g 8gb from ebay and got it yesterday
and that was good, i was excited and the guy shipped fast.
I was happy until i came to find that the bottom of the iPhone was unresponsive? (exactly where the dock is)
I cant press any apps that sit on the dock. Instead i have to go to search or have 4.0...
and when i press the space on the keyboard, thats unresponsive too :[ I cant search anything on safari either. So..i know in most cases people would send it back and get a refund but..can this be fixed easily? can i do it myself or is there a place where i can send it in for really cheap??

I am in the process of creating a website for my employer. The website renders flawlessly in opera, firefox, safari, and chrome. But, for some non surprising reason, it will not render in this piece of crap we call internet explorer. I want an alert box to come up with the information about that browser when you enter the name of it into the prompt. How do I do that? Last month, I use the spirit jailbreak on my iPhone 3GS.
As a noob, I upgrade the firmware to IOS 4.0.1 when it was released via iTunes and the network of my phone went faulty.
When I am not using Wi-fi, I cannot open any website with the safari. All my apps that require network connection also cannot work anymore without the Wi-fi.

Can any knid soul give me some advices?

I have an Ipod Touch, and it says that it is connected to a network, but how do I make it connect to the internet? Whenever I try to use Safari, it says that it is not connected to the internet, even though I have 3 bars and says I am connected to a network. Any help would be much appreciated!
I guess I didn't explain it well enough...I am connected to a WiFi network at work. I am also RIGHT next to the router, and I have 3 full bars of connection showing on the upper left of my Ipod.

I sent a text message to one of my friends. She usually responds pretty quickly, put i was wondering was it even sent. I have an iphone and i live in reno,nv. It made the sound that it was sent, but like 15 minutes later when i tried to go on safari it said error and would not work. I also went to some of my other apps and it did the same thing. It worked after i restarted it. So do you think that it was sent?
